Zero malaria

Malaria is preventable and curable. The World Malaria Report in 2020 revealed that Nigeria accounts for 27 per cent of malaria cases worldwide, and about 76 per cent of Nigeria’s population are at risk of Malaria by living in high transmission areas. Nigeria approximately has 51 million cases, and 207,000 deaths are reported annually (approximately 30% of the total malaria burden in Africa), while it suffers the world’s greatest malaria burden. In 2020, an estimated number of malaria deaths stood at 627 000 – a significant increase of 69 000 deaths over the previous year.

Zero Malaria is a project that focuses on reducing malaria transmission in slums and rural communities through sensitization on preventing Malaria, treating Malaria, and providing mosquito repellants.
