About the program
The Next Hundred Public Health Stewards (TNH-PHS) program is a flagship initiative by Centre for Health Systems Support and Initiatives for Development (CHESIDS), aimed at increasing the role of youth in health and development by equipping young public health enthusiasts with the knowledge and skills relevant in public health practice. The program seeks to fill the learning gap by championing leadership and competence building through a deliberate mentorship program where young professionals undergo an integrative public health learning experience.

Suitable start-ups to be funded through develoPP ventures are selected during an open call for applications. This takes place twice a year and is open to all start-ups that meet the conditions for participation. Depending on the target country, the funding contract is concluded with one of the two implementing partners, DEG Impulse gGmbH or Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
DEG Impulse gGmbH and the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH with funds from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) support young companies to scale innovative business models in selected emerging markets that create positive impact and contribute to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Requirements
- Your company is registered in the target country or plans to register there prior to the co-financed growth investment
- You are pursuing an innovative business model and are already generating initial revenues (proof of concept)
- Your business model has high development relevance and scalability and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- The current develoPPP Ventures call for applications (November 15 to December 31) is open in Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania.

- The company is registered in the target country OR plans to register there prior to the investment
- The company is privately owned and profit-oriented • At least one annual financial statement is provided

The Thomas Jefferson Scholarship Program provides opportunities for full-time, undergraduate, university/institute students from Tunisia to spend one academic year of nondegree study at a U.S. university or college.
Through academic opportunities, professional engagement, and leadership development, the program fosters economic growth, stability, and democratic development in Tunisia by equipping a network of youth with essential skills to lead positive change in their professional fields and communities.

Eligibility
The Thomas Jefferson Scholarship Program does not discriminate against applicants on the basis of color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or any other protected characteristic as established by U.S. law. TJSP alumni have come from all 24 governorates of Tunisia.
Competition for the Thomas Jefferson Scholarship Program is merit-based and open to anyone who:
- is a Tunisian citizen;
- currently resides in Tunisia;
- is enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate, university/institute student in good academic standing at the time of application at a registered academic institution in Tunisia;
- is NOT in the final year of their undergraduate program at the time of application
- Architecture students are eligible in their first, second, third, fourth, or fifth year of study.
- Engineering students are eligible in their first or second year (preparatory classes), and third and fourth year of undergraduate study.
- is able to receive a U.S. J-1 visa;
- is at least 18 years old by July 1, 2024;
- is committed to returning to Tunisia after completion of the program;
- is able to achieve a TOEFL score of at least 500; and
- completes the academic year prior to study in the United States in good standing with a passing average (a.k.a. moyenne générale).
Please note that you do not need to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) to apply for this program. Only semifinalists are required to take the TOEFL, and testing will be provided for them at no cost.
How to apply
The application must be completed online. Applicants must fill out all required sections of the application and provide contact information for two references. Reference 1 and reference 2 must be completed by two different individuals who can speak to your suitability as a potential scholarship recipient. References may be provided by professors, advisors, managers, mentors, etc.
Complete copies of all application materials, including references, must be received together in one package as per the application instructions by Monday, November 27, 2023 at 5 p.m. Tunis time. Only complete applications, which include a complete application form with two reference forms, will be forwarded to the selection committee.

Teach4SDGs Cohort 3
In a bid to promote sustainable development and educate the future generation about the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), AIIDEV Africa has launched the Cohort 3 of the Teach4SDGs. The Teach4SDGs programme is a 12-week intensive training that includes 10+ advanced workshops, lectures, comprehensive readings and assessments, and practical projects that will allow school educators to deepen their understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The programme will cover the 17 SDGs and their targets, as well as relevant topics such as Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Climate Change, Environmental Sustainability, Green Economy, Circular Economy and Sustainable Waste Management, Project Management, Technology and Innovation for Educators.
Eligibility Criteria:
To participate in this programme, please note the following criteria before proceeding with your application:
- Application is open to all Primary and Secondary School Teachers both in Public and Private Schools across Sub-Saharan African countries.
- Ability to commit at least 4 hours in 2 days per week throughout the training programme. All sessions will be conducted in the English language.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 20 – 45 years.
- Availability to partake in virtual training and conduct SDGs Activation in your school.
- Interested in being a development and transformation agent who promotes student learning about the SDGs.
- Applicants must not necessarily be acquainted with the knowledge of the SDGs 2030.

The WAAW Foundation Scholarship allows African female college students to complete their education in a STEM-related field. Sub-Saharan Africa bears a disproportionate share of global health concerns, with limited healthcare resources and financing preventing all citizens from accessing high-quality healthcare services. Innovative technological innovations provide possible solutions to these problems. Entrepreneurial innovation is booming in the region, with fascinating examples ranging from virtual health aides to drone delivery of medical supplies.
HealthTech Hub Africa (HTHA) is a hybrid pan-African health tech accelerator in Kigali, Rwanda, with a physical co-working facility. The Novartis Foundation founded HTHA, which is backed by the Global Fund and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, to solve these difficulties by actively incorporating innovations into public health systems through engagement with key government players. The accelerator, along with its management partners Villgro Africa and Jhpiego, strives to provide entrepreneurs with a robust platform for creating sustainable enterprises and substantial health impact.

CUSEF Young Leaders Scholarship 2024
CUSEF Young Leaders /One Young World Scholarship to Attend the 2024 One Young World Summit |Fully Funded
One Young World is introducing the CUSEF Young Leaders Scholarship 2024 in collaboration with the China-United States Exchange Foundation to find eight outstanding young leaders from around the world. The Scholars will be chosen for their shown beneficial social impact in addressing global issues such as climate change, poverty, gender equality, and public health. The scholarship will allow eight influential young leaders who are promoting positive change to attend the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal and become members of the global One Young World Ambassador Community.
The China-United States interchange Foundation (CUSEF) is a non-profit organization established in Hong Kong dedicated to fostering trust, facilitating interchange, and advancing understanding between the world’s two largest economies. CUSEF has a long history of supporting youth and education, having brought over 2,000 American students to China, including 800 from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). It was founded in 2008 and is commemorating its 15th anniversary by inviting global youth to apply for the CUSEF Young Leaders Scholarship, which will help accelerate progress on the SDGs.
Selection Criteria
- Aged between 18-30 at the time of the One Young World Summit 2024.

- October 1: All program applications are open. Begin your application to the MSIT, MSECE, and MSEAI programs
- December 15: Early admissions deadline. Submit your application by the early admission deadline of December 15 for CMU-Africa to cover your competency test fees. Learn more about test fees
- January 15: Final application deadline. Any application received after the early admission deadline will only be considered if submitted with a valid DET, IELTS, or TOEFL.
- January–April: Applications are reviewed. After the final application deadline, all components of the applications are reviewed
