Open to university students committed to driving positive change in their communities, this program offers you a chance to enhance your skills, broaden your horizons, and promote global citizenship through your actions.
What to Expect as a Participant
As a participant in the Global Citizenship Learning Program, you can anticipate a dynamic learning experience with a wide array of activities. Here’s what’s in store for you:
- Cultural Immersion: Immerse yourself in different cultures and learn to collaborate across boundaries of place and identity.
- Collaboration: Work alongside fellow student change-makers from around the world in countries like China, India, Chile, Ghana, Germany, and the United States.
- Global Topics: Expand your knowledge of global issues, especially those linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Impact Projects: Co-create and develop impact projects with fellows and partners to drive change initiatives, both locally and internationally.
- Skills Development: Acquire valuable skills in intercultural communications, teamwork, design thinking, project management, storytelling, podcasting, ethical leadership, and systems thinking.
- Global Convention: Based on active participation, you may be invited to a fully sponsored in-person annual convention in one of the participating countries.
- Lifetime Membership: Upon successful completion of the program, you become a valued member of our global community of Senior Melton Fellows, consisting of over 600 change-makers.
Who Can Apply?
The Global Citizenship Learning Program is open to university students aged 18-25 who are passionate about local community impact. To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled at one of our partner universities, which include institutions in Bangalore, India; Greater Accra, Ghana; New Orleans, United States; Jena, Germany; Temuco, Chile; and Hangzhou, China.
