About The SWEEAP Program
Program brief
The Scaling Women's Economic Empowerment through Affirmative Procurement Reform (SWEEAP) Training Programme is implemented by DO Take Action in collaboration with the Chevening Alumni Association of Nigeria, with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) through the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund (CAPF).
This initiative focuses on strengthening the capacity of Women-Led Businesses (WLBs) in Kano and Rivers States through a structured curriculum training approach. Delivered via an interactive learning management system, the programme provides in-depth knowledge on procurement procedures in both the public and private sectors, regulatory compliance, eligibility requirements, and the development of competitive proposals and contract documentation. It also addresses business development strategies, stakeholder engagement, and introduces participants to the core principles and frameworks guiding gender-responsive procurement reforms.
Through this programme, women entrepreneurs are better positioned to understand procurement systems, respond to bidding opportunities, and participate meaningfully in procurement markets. The training also promotes engagement with broader policy reforms aimed at ensuring equitable access and inclusive economic participation.
