UDEME ABRAHAM CREATED AWARENESS TO 500 PARTICIPANTS ON DRUG ABUSE

The World Health Organization (WHO) draws attention to the rising global concern of increased substance abuse among the youth, which includes the alarming misuse of prescription medications.

In an effort to contribute to the promotion of a safer and more productive community, Udeme Abraham, a dedicated Grassroot Development Champion, initiated the “No to Pills and Drug Abuse” project. This project was physically carried out at the heart of the Trikania Community in Kaduna state on the 27th of August 2023.

The event saw the participation of 17 individuals, with 70% of them being parents. In addition to providing valuable insights into the latest trends in drug abuse, Udeme delved into why it is crucial for parents to be aware of the signs and environments that may render their children vulnerable to drug abuse. She emphasized that addressing this issue is not the sole responsibility of educators or external authorities but is a collective effort that includes parents. This enlightening session left all participants appreciative of the knowledge gained and motivated to address this critical issue.
